Lisa Motro is a jewelry designer, handcrafting wearable sculptures in gold. Forever seeking to honor the intrinsic qualities of the precious gems she embeds into her work, she selectively cuts and polishes stones herself to best bring them to light. Motro’s powerful and multilayered rings, pendants, and earrings all bear the unmistakable aura of human touch, as a celebration of individuality and human originality. Her fine tailored jewels also honor nature, and the brilliance of naturally appearing geometric forms. 

Motro’s technically complex-and often kinetic-settings draw on an arc of visual references, from the timeless designs of Jerusalem’s ancient past to the faceted geometry of Art Deco. She also looks to organic sources of inspiration: a fava bean, salt-encrusted rocks from the Dead Sea, the Mediterranean. Magnetically drawn to the wonders of the natural world and the design possibilities of fine metals, she crafts jewels that celebrate precious stones by enveloping them in bespoke 18k gold designs that allow them to shine.

Motro honed her sculpting skills at New York’s Parsons School of Design, where she graduated with honors. Her works have appeared in international museums and galleries, including at the shops of New York’s Jewish Museum, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Eretz Israel Museum.
